Cat’s Cave Prevails in Wednesday’s Manister House Purse at Keeneland

Making her 2025 debut, Patricia Hope’s Cat’s Cave held off a sustained challenge from Chilled and favored Landed to score a 1-length victory in the $130,000 Manister House Purse Wednesday afternoon. (Click here for a video of the race.)

Ridden by Jaime Torres for trainer Mike Tomlinson, Cat’s Cave covered 1 1/16 miles on a fast track in 1:44.24.

Cat’s Cave paid $22.08, $8.84 and $4.82. Chilled finished second under Luis Saez and returned $3.76 and $2.58. Landed, the 2-1 favorite ridden by Frankie Pennington, was third and paid $3.06 to show.

Bred in Kentucky, Cat’s Cave is a 4-year-old filly by Goldencents out of Awesome Maneuver, by Awesome Again. With today’s victory worth $78,585, she improved her record to four wins in 13 starts and earnings of $254,888.

Cat’s Cave is from the family of this year’s Twinspires.com Louisiana Derby (G2) winner, Tiztastic, a hopeful for the Kentucky Derby (G1) Presented by Woodford Reserve on May 3.
