Cypress Creek Equine and Madaket Stables’ Bless the Broken began her serious preparation for the $1.5 million Kentucky Oaks (G1) by working a half-mile in company in :47.80 over a fast track Wednesday morning.
Winner of the Bourbonette Oaks (L) in her most recent start March 22, Bless the Broken worked on even terms with Atarah, a 3-year-old maiden filly.
“I thought the track was a little quick this morning,” trainer Will Walden said. “She did it well within herself.”
Walden plans to have Bless the Broken work the next two Wednesdays here before shipping to Churchill Downs for the Oaks.
